The rooms were comfortable, equipped with nice old furniture and large. I'm sure the hotel is actually run by it's owners to join up to the earlier luxury times.
The litterbox-area outside could be a "must not see" from the upper room windows. That doesn't really fit to the great room feeling and the vista on the park beside. But you can also quit your anyhow short looking around and enjoin your very nice rooms. To say: it isn't a complain.
the hotel was clean and the staff were friendly, although they were still doing improvements to it.
small tv in room which had very poor reception.
Our enormous suite, nicely decorated and clean. Friendly staff and good food.
Comfortable facilities, good food ,helpful staff
Good size rooms. Very clean & comfortable. Good variety of choices for breakfast menu. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Very relaxing, staff friendly and helpful. Good sized room, very comfortable bed. Food very good.
Apparently closed (tending to derelict) indoor sportscentre in grounds of hotel.
Nice hotel.. It is currently being modernised with the reception area, dinning room, bar etc all very new and tidy. The food is also good and the prices are reasonable.
The room was very large and clean unfortnately it was pretty dated and in need of modernising.
Very helpful and welcoming staff, large bright comfortable bedrooms, pleasant traditional qualities, excellent breakfast choice
Dinner menu was limited and did not change from day to day, quality of dinner was rather disappointing at the price
The hotel is attractive in a very pretty area. Our room was a good size, newly decorated, bright and very comfortable. The shower room was small but nicely appointed with lovely thick towels and bathrobes. The staff were friendly and very accommodating, both at reception and in the restaurant. We had a very pleasant stay and thought it was very reasonably priced.
The hotel was great with very helpful staff - a great find
Log fire in the bar. Wonderful to relax with an aperitif before dinner. Smart, attentive waiters. Super welcome from the manager on arrival. Excellent food and superb service.
Totally perfect, apart from the watery poached eggs. Had they been served on a slice of toast, the water would not have been at all obvious..
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The menu and the wine list limited but catered for all tastes. The evening meal was very well presented and of good quality and priced very reasonably.
The Hotel has changed hands in the past 18 months. The new owners are obviously making great efforts to overtake the effects of lack of investment by the previous owners and have made substantial improvements but they still have a little way to go. This however did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay
No internet in room expensive and poor quality of food
On arrival we were upgraded to a suite as we told staff that we had gotten married at the hotel last year. The suite was beautiful, huge comfortable bed and gorgeous views from the 4 big windows. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we found the hotel very relaxing, especially in the lounge with the fire lit. Would definately recommend.
The only thing missing was a bath, the bathroom was huge with plenty of room for a bath, it looked a bit empty.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The dining room was lovely, with a log fire
